Professional Caregiver Training

This training meets the requirements established by the Florida Department of Elder Affairs for professional staff training on Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders (ADRD).

The training is offered to Agencies/Facilities in Brevard, Orange, Osceola, Seminole and Lake Counties.  Training is provided by a Florida Department of Elder Affairs approved presenter. 

Home Health Care ADRD Two-Hour Curriculum Cost: $150     

  • Understanding Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders

  • Communicating with residents with Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders

  • Dealing with problem behaviors

  • Promoting independence through assistance with activities of daily living

  • Developing skills for working with families and caregivers

Nursing Home/Hospice/Adult Day Care ADRD One-Hour Curriculum Cost: $75 

  • Distinguish between normal and memory loss from ADRD

  • Identify the characteristics of ADRD

  • Communicate effectively with residents who have ADRD

Nursing Home/Hospice/Adult Day Care ADRD Three-Hour Curriculum Cost: $225 

  • Identify and manage behaviors common to patients with ADRD

  • Assistance with activities of daily living using principles of independence and dignity

  • Providing group and individual activities

  • Understanding the impact of ADRD on family members

  • Maintaining a therapeutic environment

  • Identify common ethical issues

Assisted Living Facility Alzheimer’s ADRD Level I Four-Hour Curriculum Cost: $300 

  • Distinguish between normal and memory loss from ADRD

  • Identify the characteristics of ADRD

  • Communicate effectively with residents who have ADRD

  • Understanding the impact of ADRD on family members

  • Maintaining a therapeutic environment

  • Identify common ethical issues
