Project Lifesaver

Peace of Mind for Caregivers of Loved Ones Who May Wander From Home

Project Lifesaver® is an innovative and rapidly growing program aiding the victims and families dealing with Alzheimer's disease, dementia and cognitive disorders such as Down syndrome and Autism. Project Lifesaver uses state-of-the-art technology employing wristband transmitters to locate wandering and lost adults and children.

The Seminole County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) in partnership with the Alzheimer Resource Center (ARC), has launched the Project Lifesaver program to help quickly locate missing or wandering individuals in Seminole County.

Project Lifesaver clients are provided with a wristband transmitter that utilizes Radio Telemetry (RT) technology to track the missing person.  ARC purchased four Project Lifesaver receivers which will be placed in each of the SCSO Regional Offices and in the helicopter.  When a person wearing a Project Lifesaver transmitter bracelet has been reported missing, SCSO is notified and a search and rescue mission is immediately launched.

Project Lifesaver provides peace of mind to families, caregivers, institutions and communities by making available a reliable, proactive search and rescue program in partnership with local law enforcement and public service agencies.
